Stripe
1. a relatively long, narrow band of a different color, appearance, weave, material, or nature from the rest of a surface or thing: the stripes of a zebra. 2. a fabric or material containing such a band or bands. 3. a strip of braid, tape, or the like.
Stripes are an easy way to add either a bit of zing to your decorating or wardrobe or a way to add a soft texture. Here are a few great examples of stripes. I love that you can add anything to stripes (florals, polka dots, etc.) and it matches. No guesswork involved. Who would have thought that the lowly line could do so much!
