It is starting to warm up around here. We are supposed to hit the 70’s this week. I always find it hard to transition from winter to spring. It is still cold in the morning and evening but warmer in the afternoon. My main issue is what to wear on my feet so they are not freezing, I think we’ve already established that I am a wimp. I guess I need to bring slippers into work so I look good when I need to, but my feet stay toasty!
I am planning on working on my vegetable garden this week. I was thinking of what to plant this year and so far I’ve decided on swiss chard, strawberries, tomatoes, lettuce, basil, parsley, maybe some melons and maybe squash. I have two fairly large boxes and I am going to add an additional box to the side yard that gets more sunlight. The large boxes in the picture below get a lot of shade from a tree in the yard so I have to be careful what I plant there. Broccoli, Cauliflower and Swiss Chard do well there. I also usually end up at the nursery and decide from there based on what they have in stock. I’ll keep you posted on our progress. I’m looking forward to a bountiful harvest this year!
