Welcome to Fall

Welcome to Fall

It is starting to cool off a bit in Northern California and I’m craving a good Pumpkin Spice Latte! I want my whole house to smell like Fall and pumpkins, so I recently ordered several candles from Wax Cabin Candle. I light the Pumpkin Horchata candle and it smells like someone is baking a yummy cake in my house, I love it! I also ordered a few of their other best sellers – Lavandou Fizz, Cozy Cabin and Brunch. I have always loved anything Lavender and it makes me feel like I am having a spa day. Since there is very little travel going on right now, Cozy Cabin made me feel like I was in a log cabin in the woods 🙂 The great thing about these candles is that they are 100% soy wax grown in America and they are hand poured in New Jersey. They last a long time and smell great! They have a nice selection of fun boozy candles and even Mandles (candles for your man). Wax Cabin was kind enough to offer our readers a discount code to get 15% off your order. Just use code simonandkabuki15 at checkout. Check out their whole selection here Wax Cabin Candle Company.  They make perfect Christmas gifts for you or your family and friends! Happy...

Renegade Craft Fair

Looking for some fun homemade gifts for the holidays this year? I am hoping to head over to the Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco next weekend. I’ve never been but it looks awesome! It is December 15-16 at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center. There is food, music, a do-it-yourself gift wrap center and even a photo booth. Hope to see you there! What is the Renegade Craft Fair? The Renegade Craft Fair is a large scale marketplace event, showcasing the work of contemporary indie-craft artists. Featuring hundreds of artists at a time, vendors travel from all over to sell their handmade goods and original artwork. RCF is held in urban epicenters of creative indie-entrepreneurship throughout the US and abroad – including Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, and London...

gifts for grads…

It’s graduation time and I don’t care who you are, you know someone who is graduating from high school, college, kindergarten, or middle school. I’m lucky enough to have a kid graduating from high school on the very same day that I have another kid graduating from middle school. Just kill me. Needless to say, there will be lots of celebration and fanfare. Here are some ideas for grad gifts: • Cash is always good for older kids, but a check tucked into a sweatshirt from their new college is even better. Kids love to wear their emblems. • A gas card is a nice alternative to cash for high school grads, keeps them from spending all their college money on Natty Light and Red Solo Cups. • Personalized stuff: a phone cover with a photo of the kid with BFFs from Zazzle, personalized school supplies (for the younger set) from Frecklebox.com, monogrammed fleece or towels. • Emergency kit: sewing stuff, basic tools, first aid supplies and candy. • A gift card from their college bookstore. Stay tuned for grad party...
