saddle up cowgirls

We just had Christmas in July at the studio! Two huge boxes arrived from our favorite fabric partner, Quilting Treasures. I was so excited to see over a dozen bolts of sassy western fabric, I almost did a line dance for the UPS guy. When I was kid my nickname was Boots cuz that’s all I ever wore. The boots on this fabric are an illustration of a very special pair that I got to wear to a dude ranch with my daughter and mom. I haven’t actually gone on a long walk after dinner yet, but it’s on my list. For us creative types, Summer means new colors and a sunnier outlook on design. I’ve been really feeling the yellow tones lately (wonder why) and I’m loving all of the turquoise I’m seeing. But if I could assign one color to the summer season, it would have to be orange. It’s bright and juicy and totally happy. I was shopping for plants and flowers for my ongoing landscape design project and I kept going back to the orange options, and I’ve also been buying orange juice (which is only interesting because my kids don’t like it and I don’t buy it the rest of the...
