I love Cinco de Mayo mostly for the food (Mexican food is my all time fave – next to cookie dough), but I love it next for the kid friendly crafts. If you are throwing a party, kids can actually help with decorations without breaking anything! The above party set-up from Martha Stewart.com uses tissue paper that I can find in my present wrapping stash along with scissors and tape. Easy for kids with scissor practice to help with. Check out the cute flags in the fruit cups.
If you need to keep kids busy at a party, here are some crafts from Kaboose.com you can do with craft supplies you have around the house. These are so cute and easy: Mini Sombrero – made with paper plates and styrofoam cups. Tacos & Tostadas – made with craft foam. Maracas – made with paper cups, ribbon, and buttons.
