Summer came and went so quickly, I barely had time to do anything! I think I need to keep a list of summer to do’s like I do for everything else, then maybe I’d do more of the fun things I say I want to do every year. I didn’t really go to the beach or take much of a vacation, just a few long weekends. I always loved taking pics of my kids for the first day of school. I’d do videos also if they cooperated 🙂 Now that they are older I sure do miss those days (I don’t miss all of the paperwork, homework and driving constantly). Check out our Back to School photo props for your little cuties along with the rest of our art prints, thank you notes and mugs in our Etsy...

Summer parties are here. I can’t believe I just typed that! It seems like a month ago that school started. Time flies by so quickly. We always have a fruit salad that gets devoured fast and usually some corn on the cob. Ice cream and popsicles always round out the day. Here are a few of our newest party invitations to get your shindig started on the right foot. You can find these at FineStationery.com. Need some party inspiration? Check out our Pinterest...

Need some quick Valentine ideas? Here are a few easy gifts and most can be done with items you probably have on hand. 1. Fill a mason jar with candy and sweet notes. 2. Breakfast in bed. Make heart shaped pink pancakes with raspberries. 3. 52 reasons I love you. Take a pack of playing cards and write a different reason on each card. 4. A booklet of certificates for some of their favorite things. 5. A personalized mug. Just use sharpies and decorate a cute mug for their morning coffee or tea. 6. Hide and Seek. Place notes and cards in places you know they will find throughout the day. 7. Make them King/Queen, Prince/Princess for the day. Anything they want goes. 8. Give them a jar with 365 lucky pennies, one for each day. 9. Got a tree or picnic table in your yard? How about carve your initials into it. If no tree you can get something at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. 10. Make them a music CD of all of your favorite tunes. Have fun planning your Valentine’s...
Have you ever heard of a Sip and See Baby Shower? I had never heard of one before being asked for designs by one of our online retailers. A Sip and See is a party mom and dad throw after the baby’s birth. Friends can come and meet the new baby, eat snacks and hang out. Kind of like an open house. Another shower card we’ve been asked to design is the Gender Reveal. With a Gender Reveal shower, the guests and sometimes the host learn at the party what the sex of the baby will be. It’s a fun theme to decorate and plan games around. Check out some of these fun ideas for Gender Reveal Showers on Pinterest. Check out some of our cards below on...

Last week my kids had the week off from school and we decided to head to Disneyland for a super fun vacation. My son who is at SDSU and his girlfriend at UCSB met us for a couple of days also. It was an awesome trip and I wish we had even more time at the parks. I felt like we didn’t get to do everything. We got City Passes which include a 3 day hopper pass, a Universal Studios pass and a Seaworld pass. We used everything but Seaworld. We also bought tickets to the Halloween Party which was our first time doing that. If I could live in Disneyland I would, maybe without the crowds 🙂 Here are my top 10 tricks and treats. 1. Disneyland Silhouette Studio – Every time we go we get silhouettes (real cut paper silhouettes) done from the silhouette shop on Main Street. They are inexpensive ($10) and a great souvenir. Bonnie has been cutting the silhouettes at Disneyland for the last 40 years!! 2. Download the Disneyland Wait Time app. This saved us a lot of time running around. 3. Long lines? Choose the single rider line. The Cars ride which is amazing never had less than a 60 minute wait but the single rider line was always around 10-15 minutes. We often got into the same car or at least raced against each other. This may not work if you have little kids though. 4. Get in line for Peter Pan as soon as the park opens. In general try to do Fantasyland first. These rides do not have fast...
Working on some fun Back to School concepts. Lots of fun stuff; notebooks, binders, journals, pencil holders. Hopefully we’ll see some of our designs in stores next year. My kids really like the retro look of the typewriter and bikes and the Rockin’ Robin set. I also have some fun ides with animal print that I can hopefully get done before going on my trip to Disneyland. I’m super excited to be going and I’m sure I’ll be inspired at every turn! In the meantime here are a few concepts that I’ve been working on. What do you...
http://youtu.be/-7aIf1YnbbU&w=475&h=385 I’m sure most of the country is back to school now that Labor Day is over. We start really early here in the Bay Area, August 13th! So my kids have been in school now for almost a month. It took some adjusting – getting up at 6:30am, making lunches, getting homework done and clothes sorted for school. Have you ever seen the movie The Jerk? Do you remember how excited Steve Martin was about getting the new phone book? That is how my kids act on Tuesdays, which are grocery shopping days around our house. They text me from school to remind me to buy things and ask if I’ve gone yet. When they get home they rush into the kitchen like it’s Christmas Day so excited to see what I’ve bought. You’d think they live in a third world country and never eat! My kids tend to walk around at school lunch to visit with their various friends, so having a good portable/walking lunch is the way to go. Here are some easy lunch ideas that my kids love: 1. pre-made salad bowls, tortilla roll ups with either meat or peanut butter, banana and honey, pumpkin muffins, sausage muffins/quiche, apples with peanut butter, frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (sometimes I make a weeks worth and throw them in the freezer). What about you, any great ideas to share? If you haven’t yet finished back to school supply shopping don’t forget to check out our fun collections on Frecklebox.com. Here’s a new collection we designed for tweens, the Prep....
Last weekend I had my daughter’s sleepover birthday party. After everyone left I had a pile of chargers and clothes that needed returning. Of course we had no idea whose stuff was whose! I just ordered some personalized labels for my daughter that will help next time and any time she misplaces something (which is often)! I ordered the labels from Kidecals.com. They have lots of fun designs for boys and girls including clothing, chalkboard and keyboard labels. The personalization process was easy to use. My only issue was that I did not read very carefully so I ordered the very small size label, oops! The small label works great for clothes and all of the labels are water proof, dishwasher proof and can be thrown in the washing machine. Their packaging is really cute and funny, just up my ally. Before your kids go to camp make sure and order a set, I had to use a sharpie to mark my kid’s clothes but these labels are perfect. I think they’d also come in handy for college move-in. You can include your phone number or address on some of the bigger labels. The chalkboard labels were easy to apply and we used chalk to draw on them, you could also use a chalk pen. If you sign up for their newsletter you can get 15% off your order. Check out some of the great uses below and get...
