Cute Totes for Spring

It’s pouring rain as I write this post, but I’m already feeling like it’s time for Spring. I think this year is going to be The Year of The Tote for me. I’m going to collect totes the way I collect sunglasses and shoes (okay, maybe not shoes-I don’t think there are enough tote bags available for that) and use them as an accessory. This sassy bag was made for me by a fabulous seamstress. Karen makes totes for her granddaughters out of super modern fabric collections, I saw one of her creations and I was jealous and whiny so she made me one too. Just goes to show you that acting like a toddler is pretty effective. But if you’re like me and you do better with power drill than a sewing machine, there are lots of options in every price range. So if you see me at the gym, the beach, the grocery store or the office, check out my tote-ally awesome...

cuddlebumps fabric

We just got samples of our new CuddleBumps fabric line from Quilting Treasures. The colors are fun and bright and would look great as a quilt for any child’s room. We always loved stuffed animals as kids and even now it is hard to see my daughters’ beds sometimes with all of the stuffed animals on there. Growing up I loved my Raggedy Ann and Andy stuffed animals and was completely devastated when they were lost in a move. CuddleBumps, a line of charming critters, was inspired by the our love for animals and the knowledge that little ones can never have too many stuffed animals. We’ve created Cuddlebumps, NerdieBumps and MeenieBumps and each has an adorable name to match his or her adorable personality. I think the MeenieBumps are my favorite, but mostly because I am partial to black. You can also see our Cuddlebumps on a variety of products at Frecklebox.com. There you can find lunch boxes, folders notebooks,...

new quilt patterns

We have several fabrics (In the Meadow, Nesting and Juicy Blossoms) out right now through Quilting Treasures. It is always exciting to see what beautiful projects people make with our fabric. For each line we design, we also design a quilt pattern. Quilting Treasures takes our pattern and makes a quilt for display at the shows they attend. The quilts in person are amazing such great craftsmanship. They usually send the quilt to us so that we can take pictures and admire our pattern work. But alas we must send them back. I really wanted to keep the In the Meadow quilt for my daughter’s room. Would have gone perfect! Next up from Quilting Treasures is our Cuddlebumps line. Cute and colorful creatures perfect for any child’s room. Here are links to our current fabric patterns, you can download them for free. Happy quilting. Juicy Blossoms Nesting In the...

it's in the bag

Our agent, Jewel Branding, is going to the Atlanta Gift Show this week. She has lots of exciting new design collections from us to show off. We hope you can stop by her booth if you are visiting the show. We are excited to also be showcasing our new fabric line, Nesting from Quilting Treasures. We had our in-house sewing guru (Frances Gunther) whip up a couple of bags for us and they turned out fabulous. Unfortunately we are sending them to Atlanta for the show otherwise I would be using them right now! Frances also used our Juicy Blossoms fabric to make one of the bags and I love how it turned out. If you don’t have any embellishments on the bags they can be turned inside out and used either...

what's new wednesday

We are really excited to have been featured in Quilt Magazine this month. It is their October/November issue out right now. We are the designer spotlight. We were called several months ago by the writer Cynthia Van Hazinga. It was a great experience and really easy, much to our relief. She asked us great questions and really did her research on our company. It was fun to see how the process works and then see the final piece. There were a couple of funny things in the article that anyone who knows us well would have scratched their head at – I do play soccer but not water polo, those are Erin’s kids that do that. And I don’t love to iron that is just the method I use for sewing – iron-on patches and fusible hemming is the extent of my sewing and ironing skills! My mom is a great seamstress but unfortunately it did not rub off on any of her children. This is a scan of the actual article in the magazine, hopefully we look young and crafty! You can click on the image to see it in full size, easier to read that way! We love working with Quilting Treasures on new fabric collections and the article highlights our next fabric line, Nesting, which will be out soon. Juicy Blossoms our current line is being sold at quilt stores and online. You can find the Zebra wall mural here: Muralsyourway.com Be on the lookout for a Juicy Blossoms fabric giveaway coming up soon. We will post the details here and on our facebook page.  ...
